I have said earlier that judgement day is a surprise. And it is a surprise to the one who resists the Lord; ignores him. Yes, that day will come like a hammer-blow from behind.
But Jesus has this great and graceful message: you can choose your judgement day. You can choose to have it now. Today. “The time is coming, and has now come…”
He is that whom we oppose and resist making peace and atonement with along the way. He is the adversary to whom we must reconcile ourselves. And all along the way he walks patiently beside us, waiting for us to speak, to turn to him—before we reach the Judge.
We may choose the time of our death, so that we may finally live and walk, not with our adversary to the Judge, but instead with our Friend and Brother towards our Father. The resurrection of the dead, Life itself, walks beside us waiting for us to want to live—to walk with him instead of against him.
